All you need for complete remote view audio / video surveillance is power and a cell phone signal. It can alert you via Text Message, Video Call (via MMS Multimedia Message Service) or Voice Call if it detects motion, the wireless door sensor is tripped or the remote control "panic button" is pressed (alarm events).
You can call it any time to silently see and hear what is happening in real-time (live) on your video capable cell phone. You can even program or reprogram the unit remotely with your cell phone using text messages.
In addition the camera will record any "alarm events" to its 2GB internal memory. You can view the video at your convenience by downloading to your PC via USB port connection.

If you already have 3G cell service you can add a line to your existing plan. Contact your service provider to obtain a SIM card and rates. This is a great option if you anticipate heavy usage. Just make sure your service plan supports text messaging & MMS video (most do).
To monitor the camera you can use most any video capable cell phone, smart phone or PDA as long as it is on a 3G network (including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon). Your phone and service plan need to support text messaging & MMS video. If you like the camera can be on a different network than the cell phone you use to monitor. More than one cell phone can be permitted to access the camera.
